First Meeting is Tuesday, September 13!
BATAVIA, NY- The Northgate chapter of Mothers of Preschoolers or MOPS, is busy readying for the 2011-2012 year. Northgate MOPS welcomes all moms with children ages birth to kindergarten. MOPS meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month from September to May. There are three MOPS groups to choose from; a morning group that meets from 9am-11am, a night group that meets 6:30-8:30pm and a Teen MOPS group that meets from 6:30-8:30pm. Northgate MOPS meet at Northgate Church’s South Campus at 350 Bank Street in Batavia. For all MOPS groups there is free childcare through the MOPPETS program.
MOPS groups are local communities that help moms be better moms by understanding their unique needs, challenges and joys — in this vital season of early mothering. For over 35 years, MOPS has been creating authentic communities where moms gather to experience encouragement, support and hope. Through training and development customized to women in this stage of life, and through do-able service opportunities, MOPS grows moms to make a better world.
“We are so excited to start the new year off by welcoming new moms to our group,” Diane Deleo, Coordinator of the Northgate MOPS night group said. “We welcome all moms with infants, toddlers and preschoolers who are looking for community, friendship, fun, relevant guest speakers and of course great food and activities!”
MOPS believes that better moms really do make a better world. How does MOPS help make better moms that make a better world? Primarily through MOPS groups that meet all over the world in more than 30 countries and in over 4,000 groups in the United States.
Although mothering preschoolers is at times a lonely challenge, MOPS is providing a welcome break for moms; a chance for moms to make new friends and an opportunity for moms to know they are not alone in the struggles and joys of raising young children.
